Week 5 NFL Picks

How is it possibly already Week Five? Insane.  And with Brady and the Pats welcoming back old friend Julian Edelman, we may as fast forward to December no?

Fine, we will play all the weeks, which turns out good for us, as after a huge week, we are now over .500.  And thanks to Mr. Brady and Edelman, Week 5 got off to a winning start as well.  Here is where we stand:

Week 4 Record: 9-5-1/Overall Record: 24-21-1/Best Bets Record:1-4 (yuck)

Here is a recap of last week:

Rams (-6.5) vs. Vikings: Win

Patriots (-6.5) vs. Dolphins: Win

Bengals (+4) @ Falcons: Win

Packers (-9.5) vs. Bills: Win

Lions (+3) @ Cowboys: Win

Colts (-1) vs. Texans: Loss

Jaguars (-7.5) vs. Jets: Win

Bears (-3) vs. Buccaneers: Win

Eagles (-3.5) @ Titans: Loss

Seahawks (-3) @ Cardinals: Push

Browns (+2.5) @ Raiders:

Chargers (-10.5) vs. 49ers: Loss

Saints (-3) @ Giants: Win

Ravens (+3) @ Steelers: Win

Chiefs (-4.5) @ Broncos: Loss

Now for Week 5:

Patriots (-10) vs. Colts: Thank you James White, Tom Brady and Sony Michel (Win)

Titans (-5.5) @ Bills: So the Titans stifle the Eagles and Jags but the Bills will be able to score against them?  Too much Corey Davis in this one, as the Titans continue to impress.

Bengals -6 vs. Dolphins: Love what I am seeing from Dalton. Now Mixon is back to complement the stud dup of Green and Boyd.  Bengals by 10+

Ravens (-3) @ Browns: Hate this matchup for Baker Mayfield.  Ravens defense is improved, just shut down Pittsburgh and has the better offense.  Flacco sees what Derek Carr did last week and is salivating.

Chiefs (-3) vs. Jaguars: The Jags, despite having the best defense in the league, cannot go toe to toe with Mahomes and the crew offensively. We are only asking to win by a field goal.  Mahomes went into Mile High and won by that margin, he can do it at home as well. No Fournette and a banged up Yeldon is a big issue for the Jags.

Broncos (+1) @ Jets: I had to pick someone. Each QB is struggling mightily, yet Keenum has better weapons and a better defense.  The Todd Bowles era in NY is winding down.  Broncos win outright 17-14.

Falcons (+3.5) @ Steelers: In what should be a fantasy bonanza in Pittsburgh, I trust Matt Ryan and the Falcons a tad more. With Freeman back, not to mention the emergence of Calvin Ridley, I like the road team here. If the Ravens could outscore Big Ben, so could Atlanta.  Neither defense will play well, but I like Atlanta who needs to make a statement.

Panthers (-6) vs. Giants: Coming off a bye, the Panthers defense is licking their chops to get after Eli.  Long day for Eli here and the Giants cannot contain McCaffrey, much like they could not slow down Kamara last week.

Chargers (-5.5) vs. Raiders: Melvin Gordon is going to feast like is Thanksgiving on the Raiders.  The Chargers put up 30+ and win this game by 10+

Vikings (+3) vs. Eagles: It is now or never for the Vikings defense.  They have been exposed by the Bills, Rams and Packers, while the Eagles are just fine where they are.  Give me the better all around offense and what should be a highly motivated defense.

Lions (-1) vs. Packers: Total hunch that the Lions defense gets after Rodgers in this one.  Down a bunch of receivers it would not shock me if Superman put on his cape, but too many weapons on Detroit for the Pack to handle.

Cardinals (+3.5) vs. 49ers: Another game where I do not want to pick anyone.  Fine, give me the Birds since they are getting a field goal and some loose change.

Rams (-7.5) @ Seahawks: The last time Todd Gurley saw the Seahawks he rushed for over 150 yards and 3 touchdowns.  Then added another TD in the air.  Now Earl Thomas is out.  Good luck Seattle!

Texans (-3.5) vs. Cowboys: The Texans can score.  The Cowboys cannot.  Watson is healthy. Dak is Dak.  Texans by a touchdown.

Saints (-6.5) vs. Redskins: Drew Brees vs. Alex Smith. Kamara vs. AP.  Mike Thomas vs….exactly. Saints roll in the Dome.
