ESPN, which is owned by Disney, laid off 100 on air employees this week, and has plans to lay off a total of 500 employees, as the sports cable company struggles to adapt to the changing broadcast environment. ESPN has lost roughly 12 million subscribers over the last year or two as more and more people cut ties with over priced cable companies.

Due to it’s 7.3 billion dollar production budget being mostly tied up in TV rights for the NBA, NFL, MLB, and college sports ESPN didn’t factor in paying their god damn employees. Some of the biggest firings include veterans Ed Werder, Jay Crawford, Trent Dilfer, Danny Kannell, & Britt McHenry.
